Transportation Improvement Grant Recipients
The NNTMA is happy to announce the recipients of our Transportation Improvement Grant (TIG) Program, a funding opportunity that supports North Natomas businesses as they use creativity and innovation to help reduce transportation issues at their business. The recipients and projects of this year's grants are as follows:
The Natomas Unified School District - the school district will use the funds to install a new Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Station to encourage employees and visitors to use and choose electric vehicles over gas-powered ones.
Gateway Corporate Center located at 160 &180 Promenade Circle - these offices will put the funding toward new picnic tables to encourage employees to pass on driving to and from lunch.
Four Points by Sheraton - the North Natomas hotel will apply the grant toward a fleet of bikes for its staff members to use for commuting to and from work to reduce vehicle trips.
These small grants, awarded on a reimbursable basis, are designed to stimulate the local economy by providing the means to positively influence the transportation behaviors of customers and/or employees.
We look forward to offering this program again in 2017 and hope more North Natomas businesses will apply. Stay tuned for more details.
