Bike Doc

A mobile, free, pop-up bike repair station equipped with bike mechanics to help you adjust, fix, inflate, change, tune-up and grease your trusty ride. Scheduled at locations throughout the community, participants can bring one bike per person. Bikes are accepted on a first come, first served basis.

 

Project Ride Smart

A 5th grade driver's education program – on bikes – taught in North Natomas elementary schools. This comprehensive bicycle safety program teaches traffic principles and on-bike handling skills. The 10-hour course culminates with street rides where students apply what they have learned to their local neighborhood streets - giving them the knowledge and experience to travel safely to and from school. Project Ride Smart is taught by certified bike instructors.

 

Bike Tech at Inderkum High School

Similar to auto shop in structure, Bike Tech is a hands-on course that teaches high-schoolers the ins and outs of bicycle mechanics. Students experience a comprehensive bicycle educational program, teaching them the mechanical fundamentals of bicycle assembly and repair while fostering safe cycling habits, environmental awareness, and healthy living. By the end of the year-long course, the kids will know how to disassemble, assemble, repair and troubleshoot multiple kinds of bicycles.
