Witter Ranch

Students who walk or bike to school are more alert in class and able to concentrate better.

About Footloose Fridays

Walking and biking to school reduces traffic, promotes learning and good health, and helps the environment. Join the movement and walk, bike, or skate to school every Friday.

Students in grades K-2 should stop by our table on campus to get their Footloose Fridays card punched. They will also earn and accumulate an assortment of different colored charms throughout the year to display their love for walking/biking to school.

Students in grades 3-5 have the opportunity to earn Boot Bucks in the Trip Scanner program. Be sure to get your Trip Scanner tag scanned in each Friday that you walk, bike, or skate to school.

Do you live too far away from school to walk from home? Park at least 3 blocks away from school and walk the rest of the way in. Walking at least 3 blocks from school is counted as a walking day for the Footloose Fridays program.

Walking School Bus

Can’t walk your child to school? Meet up with the walking school bus at 7:15 AM near the corner of Stemmler and Arena, where students will walk together as a group to school; adult volunteers will be present.

Get Involved

Volunteers are needed at the Footloose Fridays’ table in the main quad to help punch cards and distribute charms from 7:15 am – 7:45 am.

Or, if you would rather combine your morning workout with your volunteerism, you can chaperone the walking school bus - meet up at the shopping center near Stemmler and Arena between 7:15 and 7:25 am.

Stop by the Footloose Fridays' table or email Arlene for more information and to get started!
